Why Doesn't Jimmie Johnson Get Any Respect

It is amazing that that Jimmie Johnson is going for his third straight Nextel Cup title and it seems no one really cares outside of Nascar and their wonderful fans. It really is a shame as he does a great job of being an great champion and role model that kids can look up to. You never hear Jimmie Johnson say a cross word and always does his best on the track.
I have been following Jimmie Johnson for a number of years and I must say I am very proud of what he has accomplished and i hope that outside of the sport he finally gets some recognition. I seriously doubt it though as many people outside of Nascar do not really take it as a viable sport yet it seems.

Carl Edwards Wins At Pocono
Waiting out the rain seems like no fin, but in the end if you win the race you do not mind it at all. Carl Edwards played the fuel mileage game and he came up the bigger winner Sunday as he took the checkered flag at Pocono Raceway. Tony Stewart finished second while Jimmie Johnson came in third. Edwards moved up to third in the points standings and this also gave him four wins for the season as well.
For Kyle Busch he finished 36th as he had to get some fuel to be able to make it to the end. Busch also seen his points lead go down some as well. Busch still has been the best driver so far and will be tough to beat when the Chase starts up.

Mark Martin Heading To Hendrick Motorsports

It looks like Mark Martin could get one more chance to win that elusive Nascar Championship as he maybe heading to Hendrick Motorsports to replace Casey Mears who is according to sources going to be let go at the end of the season. Only time will tell though if that is true or not.
Mears has struggled this year and he is trying to keep his job, but it really looks like that probably will not happen. Mears does have one year left on his contract though. If I was a betting man though I would guess that Mears will be leaving and Martin will replace him. I will keep you posted.
